Hemnet’s Buyer Barometer February 2025: Slightly rising price expectations

In Hemnet's Buyer Barometer for February, 44 percent of surveyed buyers stated that they believe housing prices will rise over the next six months. This is an increase of 2 percentage points compared to the corresponding measure in January.
In Hemnet's Buyer Barometer for February, 44 percent of surveyed buyers stated that they believe housing prices will rise over the next six months. This is an increase of 2 percentage points compared to the corresponding measure in January.
The share of buyers expecting falling prices simultaneously decreased by 1 percentage points, from 14 percent in January to 13 percent in February, remaining at historically low levels. Overall, this results in a net outcome for Hemnet’s Buyer Barometer of +31 percentage points, 3 percentage points higher than in the January survey.
Percentage of buyers expecting:
Increasing prices: 44.0 percent (42.0% in the previous month)
Decreasing prices: 12.9 percent (14.4 % in the previous month)
Unchanged prices: 43.1 percent (43.6% in the previous month)
Erik Holmberg, market Analyst at Hemnet, commented:
“In February, we saw a slight increase in the share of buyers who believe in rising housing prices. The housing market has also started relatively strong, with clear price increases and high activity. Our view is that the housing market will continue to strengthen throughout the year, with a price recovery and sustained high activity. Although there is some uncertainty.”.
Hemnet’s Buyers’ Barometer went out to 2,073 respondents between 1 and 3 February.
